Passing of former player David Steele.

We have to advise of the passing today of former Northern Suburbs player David Steele.
David was a former Junior from Carrington and played in seasons 1970 – 1974 and 1976, and played in the 3rd Grade Grand Final against Western Suburbs in 1976.
Our condolences go out to Dave’s family, friends and former teammates.

Passing of Robert “Chasa” Woolston

Just to advise Former Player, Coach, Official and Life Member, Robert Woolston passed away after a short illness at 1.30am on Friday Morning, 31st July 2026.

Born – Robert St, Islington
Schools were Sacred Heart Primary and Hamilton Marist Brothers.

1974 – 1987 Club Secretary and Club Delegate to the Newcastle Rugby League.
Served on the Wickham/ Islington Oval Boards Committees and on the North Newcastle Leagues Club Board.
1978 – Elected Life Member of the North Newcastle RLFC
1980 – 1988 Various management roles with the Newcastle Rugby League including many years on the Newcastle Rugby League Judiciary Committee.
1982 – Elected Life Member of the Newcastle Rugby League
1988 – 1990 Newcastle Knights 3rd Grade Team Manager
1991 – 1998 ARL Ground Manager at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Funeral Details for Anthony “Tony” Webber

It is with great sadness that we share the details of Tony’s funeral.
Tony’s funeral service will be held on Monday, 20 July, at 12:00 pm in the South Chapel, Woronora Memorial Park, 121 Linden Street, Sutherland.
Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and join us as we celebrate Tony’s life and say our final goodbye.
Please note that there will be no wake following the service. The boys and I appreciate your understanding, as we are not feeling strong enough to cope with one at this time.
