Annual North Bluebags v. Waratah-Mayfield Cheetahs Old Boys Bowls Day

It’s that time of the year again with the annual North Bluebags v.
Waratah-Mayfield Cheetahs Old Boys Bowls Day, which will be held at the Lambton Bowling Club (behind pool) on Wednesday 6th May, registrations commencing at 9.30am with bowling to commence at 10.00am.
Cost for the day will be $20.00, which includes Bowls + Meal.
Invitation is open to all former players, coaches, officials and supporters.
You don’t have to bowl, just come down for a friendly chat with all the old boys.

Passing of former Captain/Coach Garry Leo

With deep sadness we have to advise of the passing today of former Northern Suburbs Bluebag and Balmain Tiger Club legend Garry Leo.
Garry came to our club after a long and distinguished career at the Balmain Tigers, beginning in 1963 and including Grand Final appearances in 1966 and in a history making win in 1969.
After announcing his departure from the Tigers in 1974, Garry held the then club record of 236 grade games.
1975 – 1978 Northern Suburbs Captain/Coach.
In his first year he took our club straight to the finals after an absence of a few years.
1975. 1976  Represented the Newcastle Divisional side.
Our condolences go out to Garry’s family, friends and former teammates.

Passing of former player Glen Higgins

The North Bluebags club would like to express their sadness on the passing of former player Glen Higgins.
Glen was a Raymond Terrance junior who went on to play with us in 1985 and later Waratah-Mayfield.
Our condolences go out to all of the Higgins’s family, friends and former teammates.

Old Boys Day this Sunday 12th October

Just a reminder the North Bluebags Old Boys Reunion is on at the Lambton Bowling this Sunday, 12th October commencing from 11am.
All former Players, Juniors, Coaches, Officials and Club Supporters are encouraged to attend.
Name Tags will be distributed on arrival.
A minute’s silence will be observed for all Old Boys that have passed in the last 12 months, and we will be acknowledging the 50th year anniversary of our 3rd Grade title win against Western Suburbs in 1975.

North Bluebags Old Boys Day – Sunday 12th October

With the annual North Bluebags Reunion being held this year at the Lambton Bowling Club, on Sunday 12th October, commencing at 11am, there will be wristbands available on entry for Club beer prices and from 1pm, some food will be available.
Also, we are pleased to announce the sale of some North Bluebags Old Boys’ merchandise to go with the event. (Please see attached pictures).
